Larry Evans was a famous chess player and journalist of America. After achieving the Marshall Chess Club title, he never looked back and went on winning and sharing the titles represented his country in U.S Junior Championship followed by 1948 U.S Chess Championship at age 16. His next achievement includes gold at Dubrovnik 1950 Chess Olympiad with three National Championship title in 1961-62, 1967-68 and 1980. He played in total 4 U.S Open Chess Championship (1951, 1952, 1954 and 1971) and made his appearance in 8 Chess Olympiads in his 26 years career. He almost played with all renowned players of that period such as Herman Steiner, Walter Browne, Samuel Reshevsky and Jan Hein Donner with many others. He then joined as journalist writing in total 20 books with some of his written works as follows
