About Brad Banks

Brad Banks is a retired American professional player of football who played mostly at quarterback position in team. He started his playing career in school later moving with college teams of University of Central Florida, Hinds Community College and University of Iowa. He made a short stint in Central Florida transferring further to Hinds where he played for two seasons winning the State Junior College title by passing 2,192 yards in single season and rushing for 343 yards with 13 rushing touchdowns. His next transfer occurred to Iowa Hawkeyes in 2001 where he went through his career’s most productive 2 seasons making his first debut against Akron and leading the team to win the following achievements
• Alamo Bowl (2001)
• Heisman Trophy runner-up (2002)
• Davey O’ Brien Award (2002)
He also scored best quarterback position among nation players plus the following individual titles
• AP College Football Player of the Year
• Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award
• Big Ten Conference Offensive Player of the Year
• Maxwell Award (among three finalists) with many more.
Despite of such a successful college career, he went undrafted as free agent joining club Washington Redskins in 2003. He also played for single season in Ottawa Renegades, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, Berlin Adler, Orlando Predators and Iowa Barnstormers. Finally he got retired in 2011 with career stat of 3,973 yards, 24 interceptions and 11 rushing touchdowns. After retirement, he became active as sales executive at Bernie Lowe & Associates, Inc. in Ankeny, Iowa. He recently received his insurance license in 2014 and is working in selling and marketing of health, life, disability and dental insurance.
Achievements
In 2002, he received the Big Ten Player of the Year title playing for Iowa Hawkeyes.
