Barbara Baxley was an American film and television actress who rose to fame in 1960s. She started her career in 1948 with Broadway debut in Noel Coward’s ‘Private Lives’ as baffled bride followed by her first film debut with ‘East of Eden’ (1955) in a small role of nurse. Her next project was with film ‘The Badlanders’ (1958) as Diana but her scene was deleted. She further got starred in films like

She was born on 1st January, 1923 in Porterville, California as Barbara Angie Rose Baxley and was raised in the family of Emma and Bert Baxley. She also had an older sister, Helen Peabody with whom she spent her childhood days. Barbara completed her graduation from University of the Pacific in Stockton and achieved the scholarship for Playhouse School of the Theatre under Sanford Meisner for acting lessons. She was cat lover and had one named Tulah.
She appeared in a musical comedy-drama film ‘Nashville’ (1975) as Lady Pearl alongside David Arkin, Ned Beatty and Karen Black.
