About Kenny Werner

Kenny is famous as Jazz pianist in America and is also a composer. He started his career in 1981 forming a trio with bassist Ratzo Harris and drummer Tom Rainey and released his 4 albums. He later joined Mel Lewis Orchestra and wrote for the band as pianist. He was also involved in writing for the Danish and Stockholm Jazz Orchestras. He collaborated with many other artists in duo and trio one of them is with Toots Thielmans that lead to formation of “Inspiration” that further led them to Grammy nominations. Currently, he is working in collaboration with Johannes Weidenmueller and Ari Hoenig and has formed five albums released worldwide some including “Form and Fantasy”, “Beat Degeneration”, “Peace”, “No Beginning No End” and many others. He is also best known for his publications “Effortless Mastery” (1996), “Channeling Music: Organica, Spring” (1988) and “Zen and the Art of Jazz” (2015).

In 2010, he received the Guggenheim Fellowship Award for work in “No Beginning No End”.
